Charles
Schwab
Schwab
doesn't offer the cheapest rate for online
trading, but it gains high marks for research
tools and customer support. The site is
well equipped to guide you through the
process of learning how to invest online. |

MSN
MoneyCentral
All
of MSN MoneyCentral now lives up to the
excellence of the Investor portion of
the site, which we've honored before.
You'll find investment tracking and advice,
financial headlines from MSNBC, and subsections
devoted to every aspect of your financial
life. Recent additions to the site include
electronic bill payment, limited real-time
stock quotes, a revamped portfolio manager,
a new 401(k) planner, and a tool to help
you find a financial adviser. Best of
all: Many services that used to be part
of the premium service are now free. |

Quicken.com
Investing,
mortgage, insurance, taxes, banking, and
retirement. Yep, that about sums it all
up, and you'll find services related to
all of them at this financial portal.
The goal is to aggregate everything having
to do with your finances into one site.
Every service at the site, be it an insurance
quote, a mutual-fund search, or a retirement-planning
session, is easy to use, with lots of
drop-down menus and step-by-step instructions.
Meanwhile, Quicken users will find plenty
of reasons to plug into the site because
it works so well in concert with the software.
In fact, it's easy to envision a time
not so far off when the site is
the software. |
